Would you date a dude who wears makeup?

Friday, June 29th, 2012

Would you date a guy who wears makeup? Before you start imagining your guy standing in front of the mirror painstakingly applying eyeliner and mascara, realize that we're talking about makeup that's a bit more subtle – like concealer or tinted moisturizer to even out his complexion. Apparently, Emma Stone said she wouldn't mind dating a guy who wears tinted moisturizer, as it's necessary on camera, reports Allure Magazine. But would you?

The first thing you do when you spot a zit is probably reach for the same types of products, so who's to say a guy can't do the same? Red, angry pimples aren't ideal no matter what sex you are. However, most guys would balk at the thought of putting something like this on their face, so they're more likely to want preventative products that will keep acne from surfacing in the first place.

Exfoliation is one way to make sure that no dead skin cells are clogging up pores, so your guy might like Jack Black – Face Buff Energizing Scrub. Not only does it smooth skin and feel cool to the touch, but it helps prep the skin for a closer shave. Bonus! A moisturizer is also a great product that'll keep your guy's skin soft and clear, so try adding something like Baxter of California – Oil Free Moisturizer to his routine. It's a lot better than having to cake on makeup!

Ombre lips you can actually pull off without looking crazy

Friday, June 29th, 2012

Ombre lips don't have to look super out-there!Ombre is everywhere lately, whether on nails, hair or clothes. It's basically just a gradual color change, and people are going wild for it. Lately, it's even started to appear on lips, but some of the looks ladies have been rocking aren't really appropriate for times when you want to look…well, normal. However, there is one way you can wear ombre lips without looking like you're trying too hard.

According to The Beauty Department, you don't even need two different shades of lipstick to pull this one off – it's all about strategic blending. The only products you'll need are a great lipstick, like one from Too Faced – Lip of Luxury, and a lip gloss (if you want a shiny finish), like one from Too Faced – Glamour Gloss.

Just apply the lipstick to your top lip, then press your lips together so some of the pigment transfers onto the bottom lip. You want it to be mostly concentrated on the top portion of your bottom lip. Now take a cotton swab and blend the line on your bottom lip before going back and applying another coat of lipstick to your top lip only. Finish with a coat of gloss, and you're ready to rock the ombre lip trend!

Friday, June 29th, 2012

Kristen Bell knows how to rock simple makeup! You don't always have to get all complicated with your makeup products to end up with a gorgeous look. Now apply a peachy blush to the apples of your cheeks and use a shimmery bronzer to warm up your complexion.

Pick up a peach eyeliner for your inner rims, which will make your eyes appear wider and more awake, then line your lash lines with gray eyeliner. A bit of shimmery gray eyeshadow swept over your lids and plenty of black mascara will finish up your peepers.

Finally, choose a raspberry lipstick like being TRUE – Pure Lip Color in Muse and apply one coat before blotting and reapplying. This will ensure that the color lasts longer!

How straws can help you create a fab manicure

Friday, June 29th, 2012

Straws aren't just for cocktails anymore! The nail art trend is still going strong, and women everywhere are finding new and exciting ways to decorate their manicures. However, getting creative starts to become a problem when you realize that it involves applying tiny details to your writing hand with your non-writing hand. Luckily, there are plenty of easier routes – one of which involves straws.

This idea, featured on, is probably one of the easiest ways you can achieve nail art perfection without stressing over your skills or enlisting the help of a friend. All you'll need is a couple of nail polish colors from Lippmann Collection – Nail Lacquers, a straw for each color you want the dots to be, a base coat and a top coat like Lippmann Collection – On A Clear Day Top Coat.

Begin by painting your nails with the base coat, then choosing a color for the background of your nails. White might be nice, but any hue will do. Paint on two coats, then let them dry completely. Now pick one of your dot colors and make a little puddle on a paper plate. Dip in the straw, then use it to make circular shapes on your nails – they don't have to be perfect. Switch colors and straws so you have a cool design, then apply top coat. Awesome!

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

Coco Rocha is often a rule-breaker when it comes to beauty! The beauty world has several rules that many women try to abide by, like never wearing a lip liner that's darker than your lipstick or never mixing a bold eye with a bold lip. But of course, all of these rules are meant to be broken. Model Coco Rocha recently chose to break the bold lip/bold eye rule at a screening of People Like Us, mixing a dark smoky eye with vibrant red lips.

According to Glamour Magazine's beauty blog, the pairing of the bold, graphic eye and the tomato red lips was a daring choice, but one that worked. She also used plenty of bronzer to color her cheeks.

If you want to be a rule-breaker like Coco, you'll need a smoky eye kit like Too Faced – Smokey Eye Kit, which has everything you need to recreate her look. A natural-looking bronzer is also necessary for making your cheeks pop, and a fiery red lipstick like BABOR – Classic Lip Color in Summer will complete the effect.

How to get your guy to wear sunscreen

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

Getting your guy to wear sunblock shouldn't be a chore!Women who peruse beauty magazines and blogs are always reading about ways to keep safe from the sun’s damaging UV rays, but guys who don’t have such literary tastes don’t get the same helpful info. As a result, they’re way more likely to get bad sunburns and, eventually, skin damage like wrinkles, age spots and even cancer. So what can you do to protect your guy?

Instead of getting all preachy on him, why not just make sure that he has a great sunblock like Dermalogica – Daily Defense Block SPF15 on hand? If you give him a couple to put in his car and bathroom, he’ll always be able to slather on the SPF.

If your dude never remembers to apply it, you could always ambush him poolside. After you’re done smoothing a lotion like Dermalogica – MultiVitamin BodyBlock SPF 20 all over your body, tell him you’d be more than happy to do him the favor. He probably won’t object to having your hands all over him. As long as you’re not nagging him about the sunscreen, he’ll likely appreciate the fact that you care about his skin’s health.
