Do you know what hair 'dos are hot this spring?

If you feel like you’re missing out on some of the hottest hair trends of the season, there’s no better time to brush up on the latest styles than now! Celebrities on the red carpet are doing a fantastic job of giving everyday women a little bit of inspiration.

One of the biggest trends in hair as of late seems to be the pixie cut, according to the Pittsburgh Gazette. Actress Charlize Theron is the latest to sport this ‘do, and it takes a brave woman to go without long, luscious locks! However, you might want to try this style if you’re getting tired of maintaining your hair with specialized shampoos and conditioners.

Another trend that you can consider is curly hair, which is also becoming popular around Hollywood. While some people find curls difficult to keep up, there are many hair styling products on the market today that can combat issues such as frizz.

If you aren’t sure about how curly hair will look on you, Allure magazine recommends opting for layers. This can give you the volume you need to rock some waves regardless of how your ‘do naturally looks on your head!

Are food and makeup meant to be together?

Are food and makeup meant to be together?

If you love food, have you ever thought about how it could apply to your cosmetics? These days, manufacturers aren’t just worrying about how their makeup will look on consumers’ faces – they want to make sure they’re delicious, too!

Cosmetics Design recently reported that while makeup brands aren’t necessarily creating items to be consumed, they’re including ingredients that could be ingested without causing any problems. The reason for this is because some of the same components found in food are incredibly useful in cosmetics. As more people look for natural-based eyeshadow, lip liner and mascara, food-based makeup might become popular in the near future.

Cocoa, for instance, is incredibly helpful to makeup creators because of its antioxidants. Coffee beans and chocolate extracts are also becoming mainstream in the industry. This is leading many people to believe that the food and makeup realms might come closer together in the coming years.

In any case, it’s always worth taking another look at your cosmetics to ensure that they’re safe for your face, regardless of whether they contain food. Items that don’t have expiration dates, smell strange or look dirty should be discarded, according to Parents Connect.

Kerry Washington knows how to flaunt her pout

One woman who knows a lot about showing off her gorgeous complexion in front of the cameras is Kerry Washington. When she isn’t acting, she’s making appearances at movie premieres. Recently, Washington was spotted at the debut of “Peeples” in Los Angeles looking more radiant than ever.

Washington decided to go glam for the event, showing off her curves in a beautiful black and white gown. On her face, she chose to use a bit of black eyeliner around her eyes and treated her lashes to an ample amount of dark mascara. However, it was her pout that truly stole the show – Washington opted for a mauve lipstick that accentuated the curves and voluptuous size of her lips. Under the lights of the cameras, she turned heads as she walked down the red carpet.

Not everyone is blessed with large, luscious lips, and you might be one of the many people out there with a small pout. That being said, don’t worry – there are many ways to create the illusion of more size! Parents Connect recommends using a lip liner to define their shape, then opting for a neutral lipstick.

Bobbi Brown offers tips for looking chic this season

Makeup artist Bobbi Brown knows a thing or two about makeup, and she’s certainly up to speed on how to look glam for the upcoming season. Recently, she spoke to Elle magazine to give her tips on how to look chic and summery in the coming months.

One item that Brown uses on most of her clients is bronzer, specifically on areas such as the cheeks, forehead and chin, where light generally hits the face. Not only can this give a complexion more color, but it can create a warm, natural look.

Another item that Brown can’t go without is lip liner when working on faces. She claims that using lip liner is critical to adding some much-needed volume to otherwise bland pouts. On a similar note, the makeup artist loves using brow kits to bring definition to the face.

Not sure if you can pull off all of Brown’s tricks? Cosmopolitan magazine recommends focusing on one item, such as brown eyeliner, to revolutionize your makeup routine. Over time, you can incorporate more cosmetics to give yourself a red carpet-worthy look.

Is makeup in the future for men?

One trend that appears to be coming into style is makeup for men – yes, guys care about how they look, too! However, it isn’t a style that’s becoming progressive by any means. In fact, the intrigue appears to be growing slowly despite the number of cosmetics being found on the market these days for men, according to Esquire magazine.

Some men who’ve been seen wearing makeup – primarily eyeliner – are rock stars such as Jared Leto and Billy Joe Armstrong. However, this look isn’t for everyone, and not all men are comfortable adding color around their peepers. That being said, some people are expressing an interest in getting rid of common problems such as dry skin after a night out drinking.

It might be years before men start wearing moisturizer and concealer, but until then, there are plenty of cosmetics on the market for women who want to indulge in luxurious beauty regimens! Like men, some women simply want to hide their faces a bit after a rough night out. NBC News claims that this can easily be done by using an eye serum to decrease puffiness and using an illuminating cream to restore your complexion.

Nail art reigns supreme as 2013 rolls on

You might already have plenty of BABOR cosmetics and True makeup to keep your skin looking beautiful, but what about your nails? Just because you don’t spend most of your days looking down at your fingers doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve some TLC! In fact, nail art is becoming incredibly popular as 2013 rolls on.

One trend that’s already been seen on runways this year is shiny manicures, according to Glamour magazine. This means opting for a simple nail polish to show off your tips in addition to giving it some pizzazz with a flashy top coat. If you don’t want to go crazy with your nails, this might be just the style for you.

Other notable trends that are popping up include rhinestones and detailed graphics, according to the Lawrence Journal-World. Everyone from teens to soccer moms are asking for these types of manicures to transform their nails into accessories.

If you want to go glam with your nails this season, just remember to take care of your nails along the way. Give them a break from nail polish and let them breathe once in a while. Treat your cuticles with moisturizer to keep them in tip-top shape.

Do you know how to pull off a hat like a pro?

You might have the perfect lipstick, mascara and eyeliner for spring, but what about your head? Have you thought about ways that you can look stylish while shielding your pretty peepers from the sun? The most obvious way to do so is with a hat, and many celebrities are donning them this season.

That being said, not everyone is comfortable wearing a hat, especially if she has long, flowing hair that’s tough to restrain. There are a few ways you can wear a bowler or a beret without looking too cheesy this spring. First, The Daily Mail claims that it’s important to be comfortable – take as much time as you need to find a hat that works for you. When sporting one such as a beret, avoid tucking in your hair to keep from looking older than you really are.

Next, Mag For Women states that it’s critical to take your face shape into consideration while shopping for a hat. For example, you don’t want one that elongates your face if it’s already naturally long in appearance.

Finally, don’t forget to take care of that hat hair! To help your locks flow out more naturally from under your hat, use a conditioner to tame your tresses.

Babydoll lashes can give your peepers a fun, flirty look

Babydoll eyelashes have been seen on everyone from models to Hollywood celebrities, and they continue to grow in popularity as spring rolls on. If you’re interested in achieving this beautiful look, you don’t have to be naturally blessed with long lashes! All you need is the proper eye makeup to enhance your appearance and give your peepers a boost.

First, make sure you have a long-lasting, volumizing mascara on hand to give your lashes some much-needed TLC. If you’re afraid of black being too dramatic for the occasion, opt for brown instead for a more casual appearance.

Next, put your lash curler to work. Spend at least 30 seconds crimping the lashes of each eye to give them flawless curves that draw attention to your face. Then, apply a lash primer to prep them for additional makeup and help them hold their curls.

Finally, take your time while applying your mascara. Daily Makeover recommends waiting a few seconds in between adding coats to prevent a goopy look. In the end, you’ll have long, voluptuous lashes. Whether you’re heading out for a night on the town or you’re simply going to work, there’s never a bad time to flaunt babydoll lashes.

Could you see yourself with candy-colored hair?

If you think you could go for a new hair do, you might want to consider adding color to your locks – bright colors! The Huffington Post recently reported on Anna Sui’s spring fashion show, in which models were seen sporting colorful wigs. The idea behind the look was candy inspired, which appears to be a trend in 2013. Take Kelly Osbourne, for instance, who’s been rocking lavender tresses for months!

Sui herself is renowned for sporting colorful hair in the 1970s, and her personal taste seems to have translated onto the runway. However, this look isn’t for everyone – what if you could never envision yourself with pink hair? Do you find it difficult to picture yourself with blue tresses?

If you’re intrigued by the idea of coloring your hair but you don’t know where to begin, Real Simple magazine recommends enlisting the help of an expert. However, you may be able to do a little experimentation on your own at home if you’re simply trying to cover up some grays. Products on the market today make it easy for women of all experience levels to dye their hair and look like pros.
