Grab some under-eye concealer, dark eye shadow, and eyeliner in a grey, purple or green tint. Use the dark eye shadow to black out your eyes and baby powder to make your skin look super creepy and pale. If you want to add any fake blood spots, make sure you get some red lipstick! Pair it with a school girl outfit and you’ll be a hottie zombie in no time!

Georgina ChapmanGeorgina Chapman: What a glam queen! If you wanna look like a 70′s rockstar like Georgina, make-up is everything. Go bold with your eye colors. Try something wild and crazy, like a dark purple or hot pink eye shadow. If you are able to, adding some shimmer will seriously give you some rock star points. Apply black eyeliner on your eyelids and underneath your eyes to really make them pop, and DON’T forget mascara. To really get that 70′s look, you are going to want to make your lips and cheeks bright and noticeable. Contour your cheeks with a vibrant pink blush and gloss those lips with some Barbie pink lipstick and you are good to go!

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian: Ariel who? Kim looks gorgeous as she pretends to be the Queen of Sea for the night. If you want to get this look, you’ll have a fun time getting to be not only gorgeous but mystical as well! Start off using your normal foundation, but use a luminating cream by the sides of your eyes, high on your cheekbones and lightly down the front of your nose as well. This will make your face look glowing and magical. For your eyeshadow, find a light shimmery purple and deep jade or green. Apply the purple on your inner eyelids and blend with the green to create a beautiful mixed look. Finish off your eyes with some dark green eyeliner and purple mascara if you want to be daring! How to Achieve the Perfect Eyeliner

How to Achieve the Perfect EyelinerThe perfect eyeliner adds a beautiful, dramatic touch and draws attention up to your beautiful eyes. Getting the right techniques down can revolutionize your look for everyday and out on the town glamour.

Basic Topline

You should always start with the basics. A simple topline eyeliner look can be appropriate for everyday wear or dressed up for a night out with an intense lipstick shade or dramatic eye shadow. To get this look, first add a small amount of eyeshadow primer to the lid to keep the liner in place. Then press the outside corner of your eye to pull it tight and use the other hand to apply the liner along the upper lash line in small strokes. Use a brush or q-tip to clean up or even out any imperfections, ensuring that it will look even and natural.

Open Up Those Eyes

Women with smaller eyes, those looking to hide a lack of sleep, or those who want a wide eyed romantic look can achieve benefit from a white eyeliner. Adding white just under the brow line and smudging it lightly downward will open up the whole area and make you look more awake. Add a smudged line of white to the lower middle of your lids, just above your regular liner to make eyes look larger and rounder or add a little white to the lower inner rim of your eye to reflect a lighter color into your eye and cancel out any redness from a late night out.

Winged Eyeliner

For a more dramatic, night time look, consider winged eyeliner. To achieve this look, draw a short line sweeping up from the outer corner of each eye. Draw another line that is connected to the one you already drew that is sweeping gradually in toward your upper lash line. Then, fill in the space between these two lines and add a relatively thick top line along your lashes, narrowing as it approaches the inner corner. The larger the wing, the more dramatic the look.

Smokey Eyes

For a sexy, smokey eye look, start with an eyeshadow primer as your canvas. Then place your eyeliner along the upper lash line, getting thicker as you move toward the outer corner of the eye. Use a brush to spread the line outward and very slightly upward from the edge of the eye. This will create a soft second corner. Follow up with mascara to complete this dramatic look.

Eyeliner can completely change your look. Be sure to choose the right technique for the occasion.

Clean Up Your Makeup Drawer To Stay Looking Beautiful

Clean Up Your Makeup Drawer To Stay Looking Beautiful As heartbreaking as it may be, sometimes we have to say goodbye to makeup that has been hanging around in our makeup drawer for too long. It is not fun to feel like you are throwing away beautiful products, but consider it a chance to invest in something new. Maybe you have been wanting to try a new shade or formula for a while now and you finally have your chance! At some point, makeup becomes unhealthy for your skin and eyes. Knowing when your beauty products have reached their expiration date is an important piece of information that you should be aware of.

Mascara/Eyeliner
Any product that is used around your eyes is something you need to be careful with. Bacteria can find its way into your eyes and cause an infection. Mascara should be tossed after 3-4 months to prevent any eye issues.

Foundation/Concealer/Cream Makeup
To help prevent skin breakouts or irritations, throw out foundation and other liquid or cream makeup products after about one year. You can tell that foundation has expired when the liquid starts to separate. If your foundation contains sunscreen, it may not be effective after the expiration date. This is important if preventing sun damage is a concern of yours.

Lipstick/Lip Gloss

Lips can be sensitive to products so it is important to know when to throw out your old lipstick in favor of something new. Lipstick is good for about 2 years. After that, it may dry out or become unsafe to use on your pretty lips.

Powder Blush/Eyeshadow/Bronzer
Makeup that comes in powder form is considered okay to use for about 2 years. Skin irritation or reduction in quality are concerns if makeup is used beyond that time period.

There are some types of makeup products that come with printed on expiration dates and some that do not. You may want to write the date you started using the product on the lid or bottom of the bottle. If you can’t remember the date you started using your makeup product, there are some things to look for to decide if it is unsafe to use. Some ways to tell if makeup is expired are:
* It smells funny
* The makeup looks discolored
* Begins to clump, flake or dry out
* Liquid makeup starts to separate

Hopefully, these tips are helpful in cleaning out your makeup drawer. Using safe cosmetics will keep your skin looking beautiful and healthy.

Astrological Signs and Beauty

Astrological Signs and Beauty

Astrology and Personality

If you follow astrology, you’re probably familiar with all of the typical personality traits that are associated with all of the various signs. If you’re an Aries, for example, you’re likely aware of your spirited and fiery reputation. If you’re a Libra, on the other hand, you’re likely familiar with your sign’s intuitive, sensitive and careful characteristics.

Astrology and Beauty

The characteristics of astrological signs aren’t just limited to personality traits, however. They’re also frequently associated with beauty, surprisingly enough. If you’re a Pisces, a look that works well for you might not necessarily be so flattering on a Cancer, and vice versa. As a result, learning about what styles are most suitable for your specific astrological sign can go a long way in enhancing and improving your overall look and fashion.

Fire Signs and Beauty

If you’re a fire sign such as a Sagittarius, Leo or Aries, you might want to have a makeup look that’s as intense and unforgettable as your personality. Bright red lipstick and nail polish can help you accomplish that.

Air Signs and Beauty

If you’re an air sign such as an Aquarius, Libra or Gemini, then a more minimalistic and fresh approach to cosmetics might do a world of wonder for you. A light BB cream or tinted moisturizer that will make your complexion look vibrant, even and luminous can help you achieve that.

Water Signs and Beauty

If you’re a water sign such as a Pisces, Scorpio or Cancer, then you might look wondrous in cosmetics that are geared toward cool complexion tones. Sheer, light makeup usually is effective for water signs. Light cream-based eyeshadows are a great example of tasteful makeup that can give your look a slight “pop” that’s both attractive and mesmerizing.

Earth Signs and Beauty

Last but certainly not least, if you’re an earth sign such as a Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus, then you might want to investigate somewhat modest and earthy makeup options. Soft bronze colors on your lips and eyes might be excellent. If you apply a light coating of bronze eyeshadow, then you might be able to accomplish the low-key beauty that is so characteristic of classic earth signs.

Astrological Signs and Shopping For Beauty

When you shop around for makeup, it’s crucial to be as diligent and patient as possible. Never simply buy the first makeup item you see on the counter, no matter how popular it seems or how pretty the packaging is. If you try to purchase makeup items that are appropriate for your specific astrological sign, however, you could be doing yourself a great favor. Astrological signs are often excellent indications of personality in people. As a result, it’s not a big surprise that they can often indicate what beauty styles are effective for people. Your personality and your personal style frequently go hand in hand, after all. Be sure to check out Beauty Bridge for more exciting makeup options that are geared toward your sign.

Fun Ways to Organize Your MakeupBuilding a beauty station of your own with the use of makeup and accessories is an easy way to access the items you need on-the-go or when getting prepared for any event. Getting a bit inventive and creative when organizing your makeup is not only a way to maintain organization, but it is also a way to create a fun space and atmosphere any time you are using new makeup and beauty tools.

Brushes

Organizing your makeup brushes can be done by utilizing glass mason jars, plastic tooth brush holders and other vertical jars or bins. Using colorful craft boxes and bins that allow for upright standing is another way to store your brushes without laying them down flat and horizontally. Keeping your makeup brushes standing at all times is a way to give them oxygen, helping to preserve your tools for longer periods of time.

Nail Polish

When you want to get creative with organizing your nail polish collection, doing so is possible by investing in clear glass boxes, bottles or bins. It is also possible to organize nail polishes by creating your own customized shelf, suitable just for the size of nail polish bottles. When organizing your nail polish, doing so by color and shade is the quickest way to get the polish you need whenever you are ready for a fresh manicure or pedicure of your own.

Foundation and Concealer

Organizing your foundation and concealer is best done by tone and shade, whether you use mostly pale colors or if you have bronze foundations and concealers. When organizing concealer sticks, do so by lining them up from lightest to darkest to get the concealer you need anytime you have a pimple, blemish or red mark on your skin. Organizing foundation by shade is the fastest way to complete any makeup job.

Eye Shadow

Eye shadow is one of the most exciting types of makeup to organize, especially if you have a collection with a wide range of color palettes and schemes. Organizing eye shadow can be done for evening and day wear in addition to organizing the eye shadows you own by color and shade. It is also possible to organize eye shadows by liquid and powder materials, making it simple to get the color you need for the look you envision for yourself at any time.

Implementing a few fun ways to organize your makeup is a way for you to quickly access any color palette or type of makeup you need within seconds. Keeping your makeup organized at all times is essential whether you’re an avid nail polish collector or if you have a variety of eye shadow shades that are fitting for just about any occasion.

Fall Beauty Trends

Fall 2014 Beauty TrendsMetallics, thick lashes and bold liners along with statement-hair are some of the magnificent beauty trends waiting for us just around the corner for fall. Dramatically layering it all on has never been more practical or acceptable until this season. Going hand-in-hand with pulling out the comfy over-sized sweaters, sexy boots and trendy scarves, this year’s fall beauty trends allow for complete indulgence. Combining awe-inspiring colors with the bling of metallic-sparkle is what’s in-store. In addition to framing out the entire eye-dazzling application of a bold, dramatic eye in black, cosmetics will compliment one another by taking a traditional focal point and amplifying it.

Quirky fall cosmetic colors

This fall we will see bright colors like aqua blues, brilliant oranges and yellows alongside gunmetal and mineral tones to anchor them. Make-up trends will be both adventurous and unapologetic. Interestingly, it is now more acceptable than ever to utilize bold pops of color on more than one feature. For instance, a bold lip paired with heavy eye-make up somehow works this fall since the eye make-up still trumps the bright lip through featuring thicker-than-thick lashes and generous liner application.

Lush lashes

Evening-style lashes have now become the wildly popular style of the day. Keeping in-tune with the Summer’s falsie-style lashes, the blackest black mascaras combined with popular lash serums like Peter Thomas Roth’s lashes to die for make lashes bolder and more lush than ever before. Dark, thick eyeliner styles emphasize the deliberate use of bold shadow-color gorgeously this fall.

Statement hair

Frizz-free styles like intricate braids, blunt bangs and deep hues like black-blues and vibrant reds will dominate. Longer tresses that can be both worn blown-out, full and wavy or pulled into purposeful pony-tails will be seen throughout the fall season. Keeping up with fall beauty trends will be tremendously workable with the assortment of fall hair accessories like small embellished clips and thin, detailed headbands as well.

Fall beauty trends are fashion forward, bold and combine a daring mix of great products. A contoured complexion is the basis for achieving the perfect fall look this year. Shimmer and glitter that was once more appropriate for the hotter months, has transitioned brilliantly into this year’s fall beauty trends arsenal. From brightening make-ups to illuminating radiance powders, these rich, fall beauty trends will keep us glowing and as beautiful as the season ahead.

The Road to Strong & Healthy Nails!

The Road to Strong & Healthy Nails!
Seeing another piece of your nail chip off or watching your polish wipe away after just a little while is disappointing. While proper nail care has always been a priority for you to some extent, you just haven’t put the necessary time and effort into it. You can still get strong and healthy nails by changing some of your habits.

Don’t Pick at Your Nails

If you want your nails to grow strong and healthy, you can’t constantly be picking at them. When a tiny hangnail is there, get rid of it properly, but do not continue to pull your nails apart. In the same vein, do not chew on your nails. This habit is a bad one that you should get rid of right away. People who want their nails to grow and thrive cannot do things that intentionally weaken them and stunt their possibilities of glamour.

Use Top Products

Imagine that you constantly used the worst shampoo on the market to wash your hair. You’d probably be left with some pretty greasy strands. The same holds true for nail polish and products. While you don’t need to spend a ton of money to have beautiful nails, you should look into quality products such as KUR and Deborah Lippmann brands. If you feel that your nails are revitalized after a trip to the salon, take a look at the products the professionals are using.

Avoid Harsh Elements

Not only do you want to purchase the best products for your nails, but you also want to avoid certain factors that could cause your nails to break and splinter. For example, acetone-based polish removers are known to weaken your nails. Also, you should be aware of what cleaning products you are using because they could cause harm to your nails. Consider wearing plastic gloves when you’re doing your work around the house.

Talk to Your Doctor

While this step might seem extreme to you, it can actually be a very important one. Sometimes, when your nails just don’t seem right, it can be indicative of a more serious health issue. Schedule an appointment with your doctor to find out if anything is wrong, and then, you can work to treat the underlying cause.

Nails can get out of shape for a variety of reasons, but these tips will help to put you back on track.

How to Get Louboutin Nails!

Wednesday, May 21st, 2014

How to Get Louboutin Nails!Everyone knows the shoes made famous by designer Christian Louboutin. A woman can view the unique red soles from a mile away. Now, it is possible to create the same signature look on the fingernails. Nothing will appear more elegant or upscale than a Louboutin manicure. The only supplies necessary are red nail polish, black nail polish, quality top coat, and nail pen to clean away mistakes. A helpful tip to remember when giving a home manicure is to start at the pinky nails and proceed to the thumbs. This will prevent unnecessary smudges.

Go Red

The first step of any manicure is wiping the nails with a polish remover. This will remove residue from lotions or soap. After the nails are properly cleaned, the underside of the nails can be painted a red color. It is wise to paint two thin coats on each finger. If nails are not long enough, it is possible to use clear press-on nails and paint the bottoms before application. When finished, it is important to wipe the skin around the nails to retain a clean appearance.

Go Black

After the red polish dries, it is time to paint the front of the nails black. Two coats should be enough to obtain a rich and deep color. To get the red to be as visible as possible, it may be wise to apply a white base coat before brushing on the black. If a woman feels that the black is too daring, it is possible to substitute a nude beige nail color in place of the harsh black tone. After all, Louboutin also offers trendy nude pumps as well.

Complete the Look

To give the official “patent” look to the nails, the manicure should be finished with a glossy top coat. This will lock in the color, prevent chipping, and add shine. It is advised to avoid heat for at least 12 hours following a manicure. Although nail polish may be dry to the touch, it takes hours to fully cure.

Women are always searching for unique ways to decorate nails. The Louboutin manicure is one of the most unique and stylish ways to accomplish a sophisticated look. The best part is that it can be easily completed at home.

How Different Colors Affect Mood

How Different Colors Affect MoodColor Psychology

When infuriated, we see red. When sickened, we feel blue. When jealous, we are green with envy. Clearly, different colors evoke different emotions; they also send different messages to different people.

Associations and Assumptions

Like the vernacular we speak, the meanings behind colors vary enormously from culture to culture, person to person. We have been programmed, on a symbolical level and on an emotional level, to see more than just colors. This explains why we tend to place labels, like sexy and daring, on women we see wearing red lipstick; we naturally deem them to be the confident, seductive type. Similarly, it is easy for us to make the assumption that women tend to wear dark lipsticks when they want to reveal their mysterious and rebellious side.

With colors carrying a sea of both positive and negative connotations, it makes sense that the color of the lipstick, or makeup, you wear can influence your mood, behavior and emotions. Let’s take the American flag for example: Just seeing the colors red, white and blue alone is enough to make some individuals feel extremely proud and hopeful. The color of makeup evokes emotions within us in the same way.

We wear what we wear because of how we feel and because of how we want others to perceive us. When we feel sexy and desirous of attention, we often put on red lipstick to complement our look.

No color is excluded as even the most subtle tones can elicit an emotional response from us and change our mood instantly. Lipstick — whether dark, plain or bright — will point out your personality, so choosing hot pink over a soft red flavor will call attention to your playful side. It will also show that you are in a flirty, spunky mood. There is no end to the number of emotions a single color can make us feel, so every color can potentially alter the mood in a room in some way.

With that said, be aware that your choice of lipstick can send all the right or all the wrong signals. Fun, cute colors — like pink, mild purple or green — will make you appear more friendly and approachable. Conversely, dark shades of lipsticks can give the impression that you are unfriendly, unapproachable and serious. Take this into consideration when you are out shopping for lip makeup.

How Springtime Blossoms Affect Beauty Trends

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

Isn’t it wonderful that winter’s finally over and springtime blossoms have reappeared? Don’t get me wrong. I like the cold seasons as much as anyone, but it sure is refreshing to see bright blue skies and flower gardens again. One of the most amazing things about the changing season is the way new spring blooms affect beauty. Yes, fields of fresh wildflowers are lovely to look at, but I’m talking about the way the flowers of May have a direct impact on our color choices in fashion and in makeup, too.

7 Tips on How to Have Thicker HairI don’t know about you, but I was done with winter about a month ago. Boot weather is nice, but enough is enough. Now that spring is here, it’s time to put the heavy winter woolens into storage and time to unpack our favorite cotton sun dresses and strappiest sandals. Springtime is all about renewal and fresh beginnings, right? May is the perfect month to take a break from heavy winter cosmetics. Now’s a great time to do a bit of spring cleaning, both in our closets and in our cosmetic cases, too.

As Mother Nature shares her most vibrant hues, we can strike a more colorful pose. Adopt a pastel palette and toss off the muted earth tones of your winter makeup routine. Springtime is the right time to change it up with Easter egg colors and seashell tints on fingertips, eyes and lips. Ditch your heavy creme foundation and switch to a lightweight silky powder. My favorite this year? Natural Mineral Foundation by Youngblood.

Before they told us how dangerous solar radiation can be, we girls used to spend the month of May working on our suntans. Not such a good idea anymore, but that’s no reason we can’t have a bit of sun kissed springtime bloom on our faces. Super lightweight Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel gives us a sweet blush without the hazards of UV light or the bulk of heavy blushing creams.

If you have any questions about Beauty Bridge products, send us an email or give our customer service number a jingle. We’re always delighted to speak with our customers. In the meantime, I have a springtime flower garden I need to go see about.

Ciao for now!
