There are a number of beauty products on the market. Some are applied with a finger, brush, or makeup sponge. The Beauty Blender is one of the newest applicators to be introduced, and it has taken the cosmetic industry by storm. Developed by Rea Ann Silva, the Beauty Blender sponge is an egg-shaped product that offers the ability to create a flawless finish for makeup application.

Silva is a high-profile makeup artist who has worked on countless celebrity clients. Although many consumers may view her invention with skepticism, she has won praise from the public. Here is a sampling of some positive Beauty Blender reviews.

YouTube is a excellent way for a person to review a particular product and explain all relevant details. More and more people are using this medium to recommend everyday products and show how they work.

YouTuber Compares Original Beauty Blender with the Sonja Kashuk Beauty Blender

Lainamarie91 unveils the best beauty blender available. She compares Silva’s product with a similar sponge created by Sonja Kashuk. Kashuk’s product was purchased for approximately $10 at a local chain store. It appears stiff and can’t be easily rolled against the face. Also, it is difficult to clean.

Silva’s pink makeup sponge is double the price but much easier use. It feels softer and more squishy. Cleaning is simply as well. This YouTuber concludes Silva’s product was superior.

Rebecca Rodriguez expresses her opinion about the Beauty Blender. Despite her initial hesitations, she loves the product and feels it worked better than brushes to apply her foundation. Her end results are flawless.

Beauty Blender vs the Soho Beauty Sponge

This video compares two popular facial products. The Soho Sponge has a football shape. This makes it difficult to completely blend makeup products. It appears flimsy and hard to hold.

On the other hand, the Original Beauty Blender Sponge can easily cover large surface areas of the face. It’s perfectly suited for almost all parts of the face than the Soho Sponge, which also makes it easier to use. The reviewer clearly prefers the Beauty Blender Sponge, despite its higher price.

Fall Skincare Routine: Tips to Keep Skin Looking Radiant

Fall Skincare Routine: Tips to Keep Skin Looking RadiantOnce the summer is over, your skin may be left feeling neglected. After the long days of soaking up the sun and swimming in chlorine-laden pools, your skin needs extra TLC to get it looking beautiful again. Your skincare routine, like the clothes that are in style, should be seasonal. Once the cooler months roll around, you’ll need to help your skin recover and protect it from the elements.

Exfoliate Well, Then Exfoliate Less

During the summer, your skin typically builds up dead skin cells. Also, because of the amount of products we use in the summer time, the skin typically has a lot of residue build-up. Because of this, you’ll want to exfoliate the skin very well before fall rolls around. This will remove some of the build-up and slough off the dead skin. A light body exfoliant is ideal.

Once you exfoliate one good time, you’ll want to switch to exfoliating less as the months cool down. Light scrubbing twice a week should be enough to keep your skin looking radiant. For more exfoliant choices check out proven skincare brands such as Exuviance and Babor.

Implement Vitamin C and Retinol

Topical Vitamin C serums are a must-have for any fall skin care routine. This serum will help to keep your skin radiant and prevent any damage from the sun and the wind. If you’re looking for a little lift, products with retinol will help to increase collagen production and keep your skin tone and taut.

Don’t Skimp on Moisturizing

Keeping your skin moisturized is absolutely critical during the months when humidity is at its lowest. When your skin is dry, not only does it look and feel unhealthy, but it also becomes more susceptible to further damage from the elements.

It’s advised that you combine your body and facial moisturizer with a body serum or an oil to lock in moisture and protect your skin.

Don’t Dry Out Your Lips

During the fall, your lips will likely become dry and chapped, so it’s imperative that you invest in a high-quality lip balm and/or protectant. Choose a lip balm that contains natural ingredients guaranteed to keep your lips moisturized and soft.

Lubricate Those Legs

Shaving in the fall can lead to dry skin and irritation, thanks to the little moisture in the air. To prevent this, switch to a shaving cream or gel with a high-moisture content that also contains natural ingredients and oils to seal-in moisture. Even though you may not be showing off your legs in the winter, you’ll still want to take care of the skin so that it’s smooth and ready for spring next year.

Just because the summer is over doesn’t mean you should no longer worry about how your skin looks and feels. Keeping your skin hydrated and healthy during the fall will have it primed and ready once winter is over and spring rolls around again.

Why Masking Is Crucial

Why Masking Is CrucialWe all love a fresh face, right? Smooth skin, small pores, no oily sheen- all of the desirable features edited onto model faces in magazines. Everyone knows those looks rarely come without a price, and that price is good products.

Maintaining the appearance of facial skin has been a part of the feminine beauty standard for hundreds of years, and it continues today as thousands of products flood the market promising perfect skin in a jar. Of course, you shouldn’t believe every ad you see online. Always test a product before committing, or just stick to the well-known and proven skincare brands.

The truth is, there is no universal treatment for skin; this is because many types of skin exist. Some people naturally produce an excessive amount of oil, while others produce too little and are left with dry, flaky skin. Many others have issues with oil in some places, commonly the forehead and nose area known as the t-zone, while other areas are dry.

Sensitive skin, pale skin and darker skin tones all have unique needs. Fortunately, one type of treatment that comes in many different formulas is universally loved and used by beauty addicts- masks!

Masking is the process of applying a paste or gel substance to your clean, dry face with clean hands. Before applying a mask, one should tie their hair back into a ponytail if necessary and use a headband to push their hair completely off of their face.

Masks should always be applied gently in circles, avoiding the eye, nostril and lip areas. As a general rule, the masks are then left on for ten to fifteen minutes as they dry or solidify. Depending on the purpose of the mask and the material it is made of, it is then gently washed off using warm water and a clean washcloth or peeled off the face, beginning by rolling the edges by the jawline carefully toward the nose.

It is important to note that a good mask needs to be used only about once per week in order to avoid over-drying or irritating skin. Many types of masks exist for those of all skin types, but the best to use regardless of skin sensitivity are those made with natural elements rather than chemicals and artificial fragrances.

Those with oily skin and large pores often benefit from the use of masks made of dead sea clay. For people with t-zone issues, white clay masks with algae extracts provide an excellent dose of non-comedogenic moisture while also pulling sebaceous secretions from unruly pores. Dry skinned individuals will be thrilled with peel off masks loaded with healthy oils and fruit extracts which strip away flakes and leave skin feeling soft and supple. These are just some of the many awesome types of masks available to beauty addicts to brighten up our faces and perfect our overall look.

Five Must Have Beauty Indulgences

Tuesday, August 11th, 2015

Five Must Have Beauty IndulgencesWe’ve all seen the ads for the newest, latest products. Every day, there’s a new miracle cream or perfect serum. The truth is, tried and true must haves of the beauty world have stuck around because they work well. They are not a miracle in a jar, but they are products that are both indulgent and effective. It is worth it to buy top-shelf brands of these items, as they require less product and as such last longer and have maximum efficacy. These five indulgences are a must have for die hard beauty fans.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter has been used for many years to moisturize skin from head to toe. The natural antioxidant properties of the cacao bean derivative are excellent at hydrating skin, healing scars and diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and stretch marks. When your skin is healthy and hydrated, it is more likely to look healthy and beautiful. Regularly moisturizing with cocoa butter after a shower does wonders for the face and body.

Sugar Scrub

Exfoliating is certainly nothing new, but you haven’t lived until you’ve tried a really good sugar scrub. Often mixed with jojoba oils and other natural plant extracts, sugar scrubs are pleasantly scented exfoliating treatment, which, when applied to the skin in a circular motion, help slough away dead skin cells. This leaves skin brighter, softens body hair for shaving and prepares it for moisturizing.

Hydrating Shave Cream

For anyone who prefers shaving over waxing, the nightmare of tiny cuts on the knees and ankles is something highly unpleasant to endure. There are some great shave creams on the markets, however, which use natural extracts to hydrate the skin and provide an extremely close shave. Anyone going from shaving with bar soap or shower gel to one of these creams will note a marked difference in the closeness of their shave and how their skin feels. These creams are most effective when preceded with an exfoliant, like the sugar scrub mentioned above.

Face Primer

One cosmetic product that is relatively new but has revolutionized the way people wear full coverage makeup is face primer. Whether silicon or water based, primers help to minimize the appearance of pores and facial imperfections when applied before foundation or powder. They are available in many varieties, including those which correct redness and combat oily skin.

Good Black Mascara

Black mascara is the little black dress of the makeup world. Just throw it on, and it can pep up even a totally fresh-faced look. The key, however, is to find a mascara that is not prone to clumping. The best mascaras have brushes that are slightly curved without an overabundance of bristles. These allow for the smoothest and cleanest application. Please note that mascara, no matter how much you love it, needs to be replaced every six months.

Best Summer Spa Treatments

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Best Summer Spa TreatmentsThe best summer spa treatments will help you refresh your face and body for the swimsuit and tanning season. Spa treatments are a great help in the summer when humidity and the rays of the sun attack your skin. Try the summer spa treatments listed here to help your face and body get ready for swimsuits and summer sun.

#1: Facial Peels

Facial peels are an excellent way to rejuvenate your skin when the summer sun comes out. Summer sun can damage your skin further without a peel, but a simple facial peel helps your skin recover from the long and harsh winter. You may go in for a facial peel at any time, but the facial peel should not be the only thing you do at the spa.

#2: Massage

Going in for a massage at the beginning of the summer will help you relax before you start your wonderful summer adventures. The massage will help get rid of all the stress from the winter, and you may use the massage as a way of extending your appointment at the spa.

#3: Nails

Have a full manicure and pedicure while you are in the spa. A manicure will help get your nails ready for the swimsuit season, and you may choose a playful color that looks perfect with all your summer clothing. The pedicure you receive will help you get ready for the summer sandal season. You will likely wear open toe shoes for most of the summer, and you must ask for a foot scrub that will help get the soles of your feet ready for walking barefoot at the pool or beach. Dead skin will build up on your feet in the winter, and you can get rid of all that dead skin using just one foot scrub during your spa treatment.

#4: Full Body Moisturizing

Having a full body oil or lotion treatment will prepare your skin to be exposed during the summer months. Many ladies go into the summer season without treating their skin, and it is difficult to wear a bathing suit with confidence if your skin has not been treated properly. An oil or lotion rub will soften your skin in the spa, and you will leave the spa feeling like a new person. All the dry patches will go away, and you will be left with soft skin that looks good in a swimsuit.

Try all the spa treatments listed here to look your best during the summer, and you may have each treatment done in the same appointment. Pamper yourself with treatments that will change the way you feel about your body when you slip into your swimsuit.

10 Ways to Detox Your Body

10 Ways to Detox Your BodyWhy Should We Detox?

Today’s lifestyle and the eating of fatty foods, excess sugar, and chemical-ridden foods make the body full of harmful toxins. We also live in a highly polluted environment where free radicals that accelerate aging are released into the atmosphere daily.
The harmful toxins from bad toxins and the polluted environment can damage the skin (our largest organ). The blood circulatory system is affected too. As a result of absorbing harmful toxins, the skin looks aged and stressed.

10 Ways to Detox your Body…

The human body naturally detoxes itself via the skin, but the process is faster when we use helpful detoxing products. The stressed body needs all the extra support available to remove the harmful toxins efficiently.

I have a list of 10 effective habits that can help to detox your body.

1. Shower or bath with skin cleansers that open up blocked skin pores. The opened pores help your skin to breathe which in turn oxygenates the body and reduces aging.

2. Use skin lotion to remove dead skin cells. There are many skin care products that protect the human skin from environmental stressors such as exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, and smog.

3. Stimulate the growth of new skin cells using detoxifying creams that contain vitamins A, C and E; the vital vitamins will improve the skin’s immune system. You need to look for products with moisturizing agents so that your skin is adequately protected from dangerous UV radiation.

4. Apply detox lotions that can help your skin to regenerate and correct the signs of aging. Massage your body with creams that contain detox enzymes and anti-oxidants in a circular motion so as to improve cellulite growth.

5. Apply face cleansers in mornings and evenings. The removal of toxins lying deep in the skin is accelerated by the application of cleansing lotions on the face, neck and hands.

6. Transform the tired and stressed skin by using immune boosters. With time, your skin will start to glow, look healthier, younger, and attain an attractive complexion.

7. Improve the vascular and lymphatic system with detoxifying products preferably those that contain eucalyptus and rosemary ingredients. Improved microcirculation plays a vital role in the removal of dark rings and bags in the eye area.

8. You can jump-start the body’s immune system with the daily application of clinically proven skin renewal products. The most useful detoxifying products might probably contain alpha hydroxy acids, fruit extracts and hyaluronate that are crucial in body hydration process.

9. You can detoxify by using skin tones so as to hydrate and brighten the skin. Products whose ingredients are usually mulberry, bearberry, gigawhite, symwhite, licorice mango butter, and anti-oxidant may be of much help in detoxifying.

10. Form the habit to use skin cleansers products after bathing.

With these ideas, you will not only detoxify efficiently but also lead a healthier life and boost your image.

How to Look Good Without Makeup

Tuesday, April 21st, 2015

How to Look Good Without MakeupWe all want to look our best, but, let’s face it. There are times when we have to face others before putting on our makeup for the day. Whether you are trying to cut back on your use of makeup or simply ensure you feel confident when caught off-guard, there are three techniques that can used to look good without makeup anyone can benefit from.

It’s What’s on the Inside That Counts

This old adage doesn’t just apply to our general personalities. It is also relevant when it comes to our appearance. You are what you eat, and making poor choices when it comes to your diet can reflect for the world to see. Aside from eating foods high in vitamins and essential nutrients, skincare supplements can be purchased to encourage a youthful, beautiful appearance. At Beauty Bridge, you can access a variety of professional-quality skincare supplements to create your own personal regimen.

Take Time for Toning

You likely have a system in place dedicated toward care for your skin and appearance. While it likely involves exfoliation and the use of beauty supply products geared toward acne prevention or wrinkle protection, all too many overlook the importance of a good toner. When the skin’s pH balance is disrupted, it can cause dark spots and other aesthetic issues many suffer with. With toner, you can target your specific skin type to maximize your results. Determining if your skin is dry or oily, for example, can help you choose the most appropriate product. When seeking a toner, avoid those with alcohol as they can dry out the skin.

Lurking Dangers

Enjoying time outdoors is one of the most enjoyable parts of the human experience, and most of us appreciate a sunny day. However, before you venture outdoors, even for just a short time, it is crucial that you wear appropriate sunscreen. It is preferable to find a product with SPF 30 or higher. Sun damage increases the aging process. Keep in mind, even if it’s cloudy out, you are still subject to the sun’s harmful rays.

Always Looking Good

We all deserve confidence in our own skin, and you should not fear embarrassment for anyone to see the real you. By following these three tips, you can both maintain your appearance and help slow down the aging process, allowing you to look your best everyday.

Spring Sunscreen 101

Friday, April 10th, 2015

Spring Sunscreen 101In spring the danger of sun damage may be unexpected if the weather is still cool. While the rays of the sun are not as powerful as they are during the summer months, prolonged exposure will nonetheless harm unprotected skin. To avoid a spring sunburn, keep this information in mind:

There Is No Such Thing As A Waterproof Sunscreen

So-called “Waterproof” sunscreens are deceptive because sweat, water, and most other types of moisture will cause them to wash off. Instead of falling for this marketing ploy, consider sunscreens that use the more realistic descriptive “Water Resistant”. A good water resistant one like this sunscreen from PCA Skin will help keep the protection on longer than ordinary sunscreens.

SPF Can Be Deceiving

Though the SPF numbers come in a wide variety of ranges, the higher numbers do not actually block rays longer. The SPF number only refers to the percentage of rays blocked. This means an SPF 30 sunscreen will allow only 1/30th of the sun’s rays to reach the skin. It does not mean that it will last 30 times longer than SPF one, so it will need to be reapplied as directed on the container.

Even Cloudy Spring Days Can Cause Sun Damage

A common assumption is that when it is cloudy, there is no danger of sun damage. Much of the solar intensity on cloudy days has to do with the type of clouds involved. The sun’s rays can pass through thinner clouds, while it is mostly blocked by thicker clouds. Even in the spring when the rays are not as damaging, it is a good idea to just apply sunscreen instead of trying to figure out if the clouds above are thick enough to block solar damage.

Sunscreen Is All That Is Necessary To Avoid Sun Damage

Of course sunscreens are good idea when spring rolls around, but it should not substitute for common sense. When wearing swim apparel outdoors, it is a good idea to cover up or find shade when not in the water. It is always wise to use clothing to help prevent sun damage along with a sunscreen.

The spring is a great time of year with all the budding plants, warmer temperatures, and longer days. Just be sure to use a good sunscreen to avoid hidden sun damage.
