As a true California girl, Lauren Conrad rocks seriously awesome waves on a regular basis. And with locks like hers, why shouldn't she? While it's true that LC has the help of stylists when it comes to creating that mermaid-like perfection, that doesn't mean their methods aren't worth noting. If you're dying for Conrad-esque waves of your own, Allure Magazine got the details from one of her hairdressers.
After showering, apply a leave-in conditioner throughout your hair, from the roots to the ends. Then add a silicone-based serum for extra shine that'll last all day – even if things get a little humid.
Now use a 1 ¼-inch curling iron to make loose curls, starting at eye level. Focus heavily on the ones around your face, taking care not to make them too uniform – you want the waves to look natural. Do this by twisting each strand the opposite way from the last one you did.
When you're done with your whole head, use a light-hold hairspray to make the waves last even longer, then use your fingers to separate. You should end up with a gorgeous mane that's just as shiny and wavy as Lauren's!
