Whether you are rocking a bold lip color or want an understated look for a daytime brunch, sometimes it's necessary to refrain from wearing dark eye makeup. However, that doesn't mean that your lids should be naked. Instead, subtly enhance your eyes for a fresh, natural-looking appearance.
According to O magazine, makeup artist Sandy Linter recommends lining your upper lashes with a brown eyeliner, which is less severe than black. Follow with two shades of matte brown shadow – a paler hue on your lid and a deeper tone along your crease.
Next, curl your lashes and apply mascara. For a truly wide-eyed stare, rim your inner lower lid with a brightening pencil. According to Linter, a white pencil is perfect for pale complexions, while those with darker skin should use a golden-beige shade.
Finally, use your pinkie to apply a bit of cream blush (the same that you wear on your cheeks) on your browbone, blending toward your crease. This will complement your cheekbones and add warmth to your face.
