If you're looking for a creepy nail look to wear this Halloween, the nail art from Prabal Gurung's recent runway show is the perfect choice. Referred to as "blood-dipped nails," the effect makes it seem like blood is dripping down the tips of your fingers – great for a spooky costume. Here's the how-to.
First, choose a hydrating base coat and a shade of polish that will make the blood. A bright red could work, but it might look more realistic to choose a darker shade of red-purple. Of course, it's totally up to you!
Once you have the polish picked out, grab a small brush, like one that you'd use for lipstick or eyeliner. Even a regular paintbrush will work just fine. You'll need more precision than you'd get with the regular nail polish brush.
Now create drip shapes by painting from the center of your nail down to the tips. They shouldn't be uniform at all – different heights, shapes and widths look the most convincing. You might even want to make a few blobs that aren't attached to anything.
Once you've made the drippy lines, connect them at the tips of your nails by painting a line like you would if you were doing a French manicure. It doesn't have to be perfect – in fact, it shouldn't be! When that's all set, finish up by painting on a quick-dry top coat. Creepy, right?
