Katie Holmes uses unexpected color combinations to bring out her lovely eye color!Katie Holmes has always had a lot going for her when it comes to beauty and fashion, making her a role model for women everywhere who want to achieve the perfect girl-next-door look. If you're a big fan of the smoky eye but are looking for a subtler way to pull it off while still highlighting your peepers, take a cue from one of Katie's recent looks.

According to Glamour Magazine's beauty blog, the actress was spotted at an event wearing an understated smoky eye that relied on bronze and eggplant eyeshadow and black eyeliner to make the color of her irises pop.

You can easily get the look yourself by using an eyeliner pencil like Youngblood – Eye Liner Pencil in Black. Just use it to line your inner rims and the outer corners of your upper lash lines. A line that's as thin as possible will work best.

Now, use a bronze eyeshadow on your lower lids, focusing on the center just beneath your pupils. Finish up with Jane Iredale – PurePressed Eye Shadow in Wine & Roses, sweeping it across your upper lids and on either side of the bronze shadow on your lower lids. A coat of mascara is all you need to finish off the look!
