While fall palettes are often warmer than those of other seasons, women may be surprised to learn that cool pinks and berry shades are quite hot this year. According to InStyle.com, these two hues are translating into some of the best looks for fall, but proper shade selection and application is key to creating a great overall look.
Berry lip stains may appear bold, but the rich color is actually very seasonally appropriate. However, pay close attention to your skintone when selecting a color.
"For someone with fair skin, like Alexa Chung, a dab pressed into the lips makes a statement," makeup artist Pati Dubroff told the news source. "For someone with an olive complexion, like Jessica Alba, a heavier application works."
Cool pink blush is another hot trend that's taking the beauty world by storm this fall. Dubroff reminds women to apply the color to the true apples of their cheeks, to help the look "pop."
Additionally, women who aren't blessed with naturally prominent cheekbones shouldn't fret. "If you need a little contour, try a swipe of bronzer along your cheekbones," Dubroff adds.
Jane Iredale Lip Fixation is a dual-ended product that features a lip stain at one end and a gloss at the other, and Jane Iredale PurePressed Blush is available in a variety of great cool pink shades.
