Cat-eye eyeliner is a difficult look to pull off, especially if you tend to second guess your makeup application skills. Luckily, there's an easy way to wear the trend that's not too over-the-top and is wearable even in the office.
When you see the simple cat-eye from the front, it's barely noticeable – but from the side, there's a little tiny wing that flicks up rather than out, making it cute rather than super retro. And it won't make you look like a Cleopatra wanna-be.
To do it, cover your eyelid with a primer, then an eyeshadow. This will prevent any creasing that could detract attention from your eyeliner. Shade and blend the way you normally would. Then, with a black pencil like Jane Iredale – Eye Pencil in Basic Black, draw a line along your top lashes, flicking it up just a millimeter or so beyond the outer corner of your eye. Next, use a long-lasting formula, like BABOR – Liquid Eyeliner, to trace over the pencil and give the line more drama. Finish with mascara on your lashes, and you're ready to show off your mini cat-eye!
