Plenty of words out there are used to describe the numerous ways to apply makeup, refer to techniques and differentiate between products, but not all of them make sense as soon as you hear them. Take tightlining, for example. You might guess that it has to do with eyeliner based on the name, and you'd be right. But what exactly is it?
According to The Beauty Department, tightlining is simply lining the inner rims of your eyes, except instead of using an eyeliner to draw right across it, you press the eyeliner into the roots of your eyelashes. This gives your eyelashes more definition and can enhance your peepers without making it look like you applied makeup.
To tightline your eyes, pick up a gel eyeliner like Youngblood – Incredible Wear Gel Liner. Lift your eyelid gently with your finger and use a flat brush to press the liner into the roots of your upper lashes. When that's done, you can either do the same technique on your lower lash line or just stick to the upper ones for a more natural look. Not so hard, right?
