Take care of your lips. You know that you need to apply sunscreen to your face to avoid a serious sunburn – but did you know that your lips are also sensitive to UV rays? If you find that your lips are chapped in the summertime, there are lots of things you can do to make them healthier, fuller and pinker for a perfect pout all year long.

There are lots of reasons to take care of your pucker. For one thing, moist, healthy lips hold color better, so if you want that lipstick to pop all day long, you'll need to make sure your smile is in tip-top shape. For another, chapped lips are uncomfortable and unhealthy, and don't flatter anyone. So are you ready to take better care of your grin?

It all starts with the right lip balm. You can choose a translucent balm and apply color over it, or you can select a tinted balm that will sooth lips while adding a pretty pop of color. Make sure you opt for a balm with SPF25 or higher – that way, you won't just calm your lips, you'll help protect them all day long. Reapply throughout the day to make sure your lips stay healthy and beautiful.

If you're still chapped, make sure you're drinking enough water. Staying hydrated is important for your health, both inside and out! Don't want your lippy to rub off on the rim of the glass? Lick your lips beforehand, and it'll stay put.
