With the combination of sun, sweat and humidity, it seems that summer breakouts are unavoidable. But, according to Allure magazine, the right products can help you combat warm-weather blemishes.

“The most important thing is to keep your pores clean by washing your face twice a day with a cleanser that contains between 0.5 and 2 percent salicylic acid,” the news source reports. “Massage it in with your fingertips and leave on for a minute before rinsing to let the active ingredients penetrate.” G.M. Collin Purcane Oxygen Purifying Cleansing Gel contains 1 percent salicylic acid and is fragrance and alcohol-free.

Exfoliating weekly with a product like Exuviance Rejuvenating Bionic Scrub can help eliminate dead skin cells that clog pores. If you must use a moisturizer, the magazine suggests selecting an oil-free formula that is labeled noncomedogenic, like Ahava Matifying Moisturizer, and only apply the product to dry patches of skin.

Finally, if a pimple does pop up, treat the problem area with a cream that contains 2.5 to 4 percent benzoyl peroxide, but make sure skin is completely dry before applying the product. Bioelements Breakout Control, which contains 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide, helps heal blemishes and is invisible, so it can be worn under makeup.ADNFCR-3538-ID-19908385-ADNFCR
