Frustrating Scars from Acne
Number one thing we must all remember is NOT TO PICK at our blemishes, although it is human nature and we all do it. Picking at acne is a sure way to instigate scarring on your skin and can stay there for the rest of your life!
Always use three steps for keeping skin fresh and balanced:
- cleanse
- tone
- moisturize
If you have acne-prone skin, use a cleanser that is gel based and has no alcohol. Next, use a spray toner or try a little toner on a cotton ball and wipe up and outwards on your face and neck. Once more, use a toner that is ALCOHOL-FREE! When looking for a moisturizer for acne-prone skin, look for a gel base or lotion (not a cream) and make sure there is no alcohol. Alcohol merely dries your skin out and ruins your skins Ph-level. You may choose to try to find a moisturizer with AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy Acid) to eliminate dead skin cells and assist in preventing further scarring. Begin by using this type of moisturizer once a day for a week and then use twice daily after your skin has had an ability to adjust to the treatment.
