As the world continues to hum along to “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, the songstress has been making her rounds on red carpets, showing off her beautiful brunette locks and stunning blue eyes. Recently, Jepsen made an appearance at the 2013 Grammys, where she donned a strapless metallic black gown that trailed behind her as she posed for photographers.

However, it was Jepsen’s makeup that truly stole the show. The singer brought out the color in her peepers with stunning blue eyeshadow that shimmered under the lights. She also went heavy on the black eyeliner along the outer corners of her top lids, creating a cat-eye look. To make sure her eyes didn’t seem too small amid the dark makeup, she chose to go with a silver eyeshadow on the inner corners. Nude lipstick topped off her entire appearance, which was one of the most popular of the night.

Want to look like Jepsen for your next special outing? Try a shimmer eyeshadow – you may be surprised at how fitting metallic hues can be! Line your peepers with a black eyeliner to give them more definition. Go light on your lips, then allow your eyes to do all of the work.

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
