While guys may claim to love bare-faced looks on women, a number of fashion magazine surveys have shown that men appreciate a little makeup – as long as they can barely tell it’s there. That’s your cue to save the more daring colors and trends for occasions when you’re with your girlfriends. Here’s what to try for your next big date.
Cosmopolitan magazine showcased a look at what Rachel Bilson wore to the premiere of her new show, The Hart of Dixie, which plays up all of her features without making her look too made up.
Her subtly smoky look used shades of brown and gold to define her eyes and cheekbones. To apply any product try out Beauty Blender’s makeup sponge instead of a normal brush. Use a golden black eyeliner, like Jane Iredale – Cream to Powder Eye Liner in Brown/Black Plus, to line your upper and lower lash line and smudge it out a bit past your outer corners. Use a reddish brown eyeshadow in the crease and a slightly shimmery rose gold highlighter on your brow bone.
Finish it off with a natural looking shade of lipstick or gloss and a dusting of a bronzer, like GloMinerals – gloBronze – SunKiss, on the apples of your cheeks. You’ll end up with a natural, romantic look that your guy will love.
