Now that spring is just around the corner, the weather is about to change. While some may argue that it’s for the better, your hair might say otherwise! With warm temperatures often comes humidity, which can lead to unsightly frizz. Not sure how to control this all-too-common problem? Here are a few ways to tackle the issue.

First, make sure you’re using a conditioner every time you shower. A conditioner made for your particular hair type can eliminate frizz and make your locks easier to tame, whether you want to wear them up or down.

Next, consider investing in a leave-in conditioner for your hair. These products are designed to not only soften your ‘do, but eliminate frizz that you might have to contend with on a humid spring day. A serum can also provide similar results.

Finally, Allure magazine recommends avoiding towel-drying your hair. Instead, think about using a microfiber towel to squeeze and absorb the moisture out of your tresses. Towel-drying can enhance frizz and make it even tougher to eliminate. By taking these tricks into account, you won’t have to deem humidity an enemy!

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
