You might feel a little daring stepping out of the house with hot red lipstick on your pout, but have you ever tried a pretty shade of pink? These days, more celebrities are trying their hand at pink to create a flirty, fun look. Whether you already own lipstick in this hue or you’re interested in adding one to your makeup collection, there are a few tips you can use to ensure that your pout is beautiful in this color.

Know your shade.
The Huffington Post reports that trying on different shades of lipstick is the only true way to know which pink is right for you. It may take some time, but you’ll be happier when you know which shade best complements your skin tone.

Go neutral around your pout. states that if you’re going to go bright with a pink lipstick, it’s best to choose neutral shades to use elsewhere on your face. This will keep your overall look from becoming too overwhelming.

Have confidence in the shade you choose.
Pink can mean everything from rosy and elegant to loud and in charge. Whichever shade you select, it’s important to be confident while wearing it. Doing so can help you look as glamorous as you feel!

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
