Though 2011 has just started, it seems that the year’s hottest hue has already been chosen. According to the Pantone Color Institute, the color of 2011 is Honeysuckle, a reddish pink that is described as stimulating and uplifting.

According to Pantone’s website, “Honeysuckle is guaranteed to produce a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. It’s a striking, eye-catching hue that works well for day and night in women’s apparel, accessories and cosmetics.”

While some women may be wary of makeup that contains a reddish tint, experts at Allure magazine swear that this is an easy color to incorporate into your every day look.

Because honeysuckle is so bright, opt for a lip color that has a subtle sheen but isn’t too glossy. This can help one avoid an over-the-top appearance.

Many gals already wear shades of pink on their cheeks and lips, but honeysuckle can be just as beautiful on your eyes as well.

“It may sound strange, but honeysuckle pink shadow can look really chic – just make sure it’s opaque, and keep the color concentrated on the outer half of your eyes,” the news source reports. “Black eyeliner and mascara are a must.”
