How To Get The Nail Polish Look From The 3.1 Phillip Lim Fashion Show
As you may have noticed, New York Fashion Week has been popping out plenty of fabulous ideas for fashion, hair and makeup. While not every look would work in real life (some of those ‘dos and styles are totally out-there), the nail fashion that showed up on the models at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show is definitely doable. Here’s the how-to.
According to Glamour Magazine’s beauty blog, the stylists at the show used a toffee-colored nail polish and a gray tone to get the look. You can find both colors in the Lippmann Collection – Nail Lacquers line, or test out your own combination. Neutral shades are great for the office, but there’s no reason why you can’t get bolder on the weekends!
Just paint your nails with a base coat like Lippmann Collection Hard Rock Hydrating Nail Hardener, then apply two coats of the first color you’re using all over the nail. When that’s completely dry (which should take about 30 minutes), apply a piece of tape to each nail with one edge going straight down the middle. It helps to stick the tape on your hand first so it’s not too sticky – this could damage the polish underneath.
Now just paint the exposed side of the nail with the other color, take the tape off when it’s dry and apply a top coat. Chic, no?
