How To Style A Demi-Bob
It’s not short, it’s not long – it’s demi. This season, expect to see lots of floaty, medium-length hairstyles gracing the catwalks and sidewalks, running the gamut from tousled, sexy ‘dos to prim, angular styles.
Vogue.com surmises that “the new hair length, which hits anywhere between mid-neck and shoulder-dusting” is all thanks to an unknown model cropping her hair into a “delightfully off-kilter bob that hovered somewhere south of chin-grazing…like the season’s coolly unexpected skirt lengths, its game-changing proportions look undeniably fresh.”
So how will you style your née semi-bob this spring?
Unlike shorter styles, the demi gives you a bit more length to play with, so you don’t have to sacrifice your bedhead if that’s the look you’ve grown to love over the years. Apply volumizing spray while your hair is still wet and tousle and tease it as you wish. Sealing it off with hairspray will help you keep some of the bounce that any good bob requires.
If you’re into a more streamlined style, this might be one instance where it’s best to blowdry. Run mousse through your damp strands and blowdry with a round brush, curling your hair under at the ends.
