It seems that Gossip Girl’s appeal extends past its teenage girl demographic. According to People magazine, Leighton Meester, who stars as Upper East Sider Blair Waldorf on the hit CW television show, will be the face of Vera Wang’s newest fragrance.

“I am so thrilled to have Leighton as the face of our new fragrance,” Wang said in a release. “Her beauty, talent, and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, young fragrance.”

The news source reports that the perfume isn’t scheduled to hit shelves until the summer of 2011, but the company is planning to shoot Meester’s print ads this weekend. The ads will be shot by photographer Carter Smith and, of course, will take place in New York City.

While gals will have to wait to get their hands on her newest creation, fans of Vera Wang fragrances can pick up some of her classic scents now. Vera Wang Flower Princess boasts sweet, floral notes like Moroccan rose and water lily, while Rock Princess has a fruitier feel that contains elements of peach, raspberry and coconut.
