When she isn’t singing and wowing fans on stage, Miley Cyrus is attending some of the hottest events in Hollywood. Recently, the young celebrity attended the Maxim Hot 100 Party and opted for bold red lipstick, long lashes and an ample amount of mascara to impress onlookers. However, Hollywood Life claims that she made one obvious mistake – she didn’t blend her makeup!

Whoever was in charge of Ms. Cyrus’ face will likely be getting a talking to after her appearance at this star-studded event. The powder used on the rest of her face was blended poorly – if not at all – around her chin. This created a mismatched look that attracted the attention of photographers at the party.

As you can see, these types of cosmetics mistakes happen to the best of us. However, there are a few ways you can ensure that you’re using your powder properly when you apply it to your face. TLC claims that it’s critical to blend your foundation all the way down to your neck to create a cohesive look. Then, blend all of your makeup seamlessly throughout your face, whether you’re using just blush or going nuts with everything from eyeshadow to bronzer.

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
