A darker nail color isn’t for everyone, but if you’ve been thinking of trying out this hot new trend, there’s a new way to do it that will ease you in. Glamour magazine’s night sky nail look was inspired by Kristen Stewart’s manicure at the MTV Movie Awards, so you know it’s chic!

This dazzling manicure starts with a deep navy color – the darker the better. Something like Lippmann Collection – Nail Lacquers in Stormy Weather would be absolutely perfect. Just start off by pushing back your cuticles, as you want to have as much nail surface to paint as possible. Then apply a base coat, as dark colors can stain your nails.

Paint two thin coats, then use a shimmery gold or silver nail polish on top. Nailtini – Topper Top Coat would work just fine in any color, otherwise you could find a different polish and then use a top coat to seal it and make the color last. Either way, you’ll be left with a shimmering miniature rendition of the night sky. If you’re feeling really creative, you could even use some white polish and a toothpick to draw your own moons and stars. Pretty!
