Three Ways To Combat Excess Oil This Summer
There’s nothing worse than realizing an hour or two into your day that your face is basically an oil slick. During the summer, we tend to sweat more and produce extra oil naturally, which is why many of us get stuck with shiny T-zones. Instead of resigning yourself to two or three powdering sessions a day, try these three tips to cut down on that sebum.
1. Switch your cleanser. Allure Magazine recommends changing to a cleanser with 2 percent salicylic acid. Even if you don’t have acne, it will break down that oil in your pores and help mattify your face. Try Philosophy – Clear Days Ahead Oil-Free Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Cleanser.
2. Use lighter products. If you’re using the same heavy foundation or moisturizer, your pores can get clogged and produce more oil as a result. Switch to a tinted moisturizer to skip foundation altogether, or consider picking up a mineral-based powder foundation, which is lightweight and noncomedogenic.
3. If you’re still noticing oil, pack blotting papers in your bag. They’ll help soak up the excess in a pinch!
