Chances are you have several holiday gatherings to attend in the upcoming weeks, which means you’ll be looking for just as many awesome nail, hair and makeup looks. In the spirit of the holiday season, why not deck your nails out with festive nail art designs? Here are the top 10 to try!

1. Candy cane stripes
There’s nothing quite as iconic as candy canes when it comes to Christmas, and luckily they’re not that hard to create on your nails. Just grab a white nail polish and paint two coats on top of your base coat. When that’s completely dry, use tape or nail stickers to create diagonal stripes (some of them should be a bit wider than others), then paint over your nails with red polish. Peel off the tape or stickers when that’s dry to reveal a cute candy-striped design!

2. Snowflakes
To pay homage to the beauty of winter, how about painting an assortment of snowflakes on your nails? After using a base coat, paint your nails a background hue like light blue, red or green. Then use a toothpick or a tiny lip brush dipped in white polish to paint snowflake designs. Just like in real life, they shouldn’t all look the same! Add some glitter polish like Lippmann Collection – Stairway To Heaven Nail Lacquer on top for extra sparkle!

3. Gift wrapping
Christmas wrapping paper always comes in festive colors, so it’s the perfect inspiration for a holiday manicure. Use gold nail lacquer as a background color, then paint on diagonal stripes in colors like red, green and white. If you need to, look at pictures of wrapping paper online to figure out the best combination.

4. Reindeer
If you’re a great artist, you might be able to pull off reindeer on your own. Otherwise, you can find a nail stamp online, which is easy to use. Just paint your nails with a base coat and a background shade, then choose another color for the reindeer and apply it to the stamp. Scrape off the excess, then press on.

5. Holly
Whether it’s on an accent nail or you paint it on all 10 of your digits, a sprig of holly is totally festive. Use a red nail polish for the berries and a green polish for the leaves, then add a top coat to seal the design.

6. Glitter
A glitter mani for New Year’s is the perfect accessory. Just paint on your base coat as usual, then apply a few layers of a polish like Lippmann Collection – Happy Birthday Nail Lacquer. Paint on a top coat and you’ll be sparkling just like that champagne!

7. Hanukkah-inspired
If you’re celebrating Hanukkah this year, whip out your blue, white, gold and silver polishes and get creative putting together a fun design. You could go with dreidels, menorahs, stars of David or whatever else you can think of!

8. Snowman
What’s cuter than a snowman manicure? Get out your white nail polish and create three circular shapes to form his body on an accent nail, then use colors like black, orange, blue and red to add on his features. A top coat will ensure that your handiwork stays put for days.

9. Bows
What present is complete without a big bow tied on top? Turn your nails into gifts by painting off-centered crosses on each nail, then adding bows in the center of each one. A little sparkle will make them extra special.

10. Gingerbread man
Make your manicure super sweet with gingerbread man accent nails. Just paint a background color, then use a brown polish for his body and add decorations like eyes, clothes or hats. How cute!

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
