Use Eyeshadow As A Liner For A Subtle Burst Of Color
Summer is the season to add a punch of color to your daily beauty routine, but those who aren’t daring enough to try a magenta-colored pout or kelly green smoky eyes can still have some colorful fun – just try a bit of bright eyeliner!
English songstress Sophie Ellis-Bextor recently attended the 10th birthday celebration for online retailer Net-a-porter.com, and while the brunette beauty wore a vibrant floral dress, it was her eye makeup that really turned heads.
While her lids featured classic black liner and were dusted with a light pink powder, her lower lash line boasted a streak of light blue makeup. This subtle stripe made Ellis-Bextor’s azure eyes pop without overwhelming her delicate features.
Though eyeliner may seem like the product to use to tackle this trend, a great eyeshadow may be the way to go. Eyeshadow tends to be available in a wider range of hues and, should you gain courage to try a bolder look, you can use the bright-colored powder as a shadow on your upper lid.
To mimic Ellis-Bextor’s look, simply use an angled liner brush to draw a stripe of color along your lower lash line. Look for a shadow that can be used moist or dry, like Sothys Two Way Eye Shadow, as a damp application can ensure a brighter color and opaque coverage.
