Many women go easy on their hair during the summer months, letting it grow out and dry naturally. If your hair’s getting long and you think it may be time to spice up your style a bit for the new season, one haircut your could consider is the asymmetrical “lob” that Glamour magazine’s beauty blog spotted on Ali Larter.

The long bob (that’s where lob comes from) is a bit shorter in the back and is subtly asymmetrical in the front, with one small section hanging a bit longer. It would probably look best with a side part – the longer side of the cut should be the one with more hair.

Tons of volume would keep it from looking flat, so use a shampoo like Jack Black – True Volume Thickening Shampoo and plenty of a product like Leonor Greyl – Mousse Au Lotus Volumatrice (Volumizing Styling Mousse). You could make it beachy and wavy like Ali did, or go with a straighter version, which Ashley Olsen tried out. Even if you don’t want to go the asymmetrical route, the lob is totally versatile and looks great on everyone!
