Five Beauty Mistakes That Make You Look Older
If you want to look younger, the trick is to avoid makeup blunders that make you look older. Not only should you shy away from out-of-date makeup and trends, but you should know what kinds of mistakes are guaranteed to ruin your look. Here are a few examples of what not to do, according to Allure magazine.
1. Heavy makeup. Instead of caking on the foundation, choose a tinted moisturizer like Paula Dorf – Face Tint with SPF 15 or a sheer foundation that lets your face show through.
2. Light foundation. If your shade is too light, fine lines and wrinkles will be highlighted. Choose a warmer shade with a light-reflecting formula that will make you look glowing.
3. Too much powder. Face powder works great to get rid of shine, but you shouldn’t apply it in places other than your T-zone. It can accentuate fine lines and make skin look dry.
4. Feathering lipstick. Your natural lip line fades as you age, which means your lipstick is more likely to wander into your creases. Use a lip liner like Jane Iredale – Lip Pencil in a shade that’s close to your natural lip color before using any lipstick so it stays put.
5. Using mascara on the lower lashes. This can make your dark circles appear darker and any crow’s feet look more prominent. Just use it on your upper lashes.
