Expert Advice On How To Fake A Bright-Eyed Appearance
Even on the brightest summer mornings, it’s easy to wake-up with dull, tired-looking eyes. But before you grab your largest pair of shades to cover-up your worn-out peepers, there are a few tricks you can try to make your eyes appear wider and brighter.
“The first rule for brightening eyes or applying any makeup is to prepare the canvas,” expert makeup artist Kristine Romney told StyleList.com. This involves proper facial cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing, and making sure eyebrows are well-groomed.
Next, Romney suggests that a shimmery shadow should be applied to your lids, and a lighter shade should be used to highlight the inner corners of your eyes and your brow bone. However, when it’s time to choose your shadow color, you may want to refer to the color wheel.
According to the news provider, “an eye shadow color will accentuate the eye if it is in contrast to the color of the iris.” Orange-toned hues, like peaches and pinks, can brighten blue eyes, while plum can make green eyes pop.
Finally, Romney added that a white pencil and dark mascara may be your best friend. Use the pencil to line your lower, inner eyelid, in the tear duct area and below the brow bone. When applying mascara, however, skip your inner and lower lashes, and concentrate on the central and outer upper lashes.
