Julianne Moore Proves That Redheads Can Wear Red Lipstick
Julianne Moore has become an inspiration to redheads across the country. The 49-year-old actress regularly shows up to red carpet events looking absolutely phenomenal, as she sports looks that perfectly complement her strawberry strands.
But of course, this doesn’t mean that Moore plays it safe. In fact, as the cover model for Allure magazine’s November issue, the A Single Man star flaunted a bright red pout – a look that makeup artists often advise redheads to avoid.
However, Moore’s look was far from monochromatic, as her hair and brow color are a warm red and her lipstick boasted cool undertones.
Makeup artist Pati Dubroff, who painted Moore’s face for the publication, told the news outlet that a blue-based shade is best for redheads, as a color that matches the hair too closely will look orange. Another interesting component to Moore’s look was her eye makeup. While most women opt for little-to-no shadow when rocking a bright-colored pout, Moore’s lids were smudged with a brown pigment.
Instead of competing with her lipstick, however, the warm shadow enhanced her green eyes and added definition so that her peepers weren’t overpowered by the strong lip color.
