After a long winter full of dry air, your hair could likely use a little TLC. That being said, there are a few ways you can get your locks back to looking as beautiful as they did before the cold weather rolled in. Whether you have curly or straight hair, there are easy fixes for you.

First, it’s important to start by bringing moisture back into your ‘do. You can do this by treating your hair with a mask and conditioning each time you shower. Additionally, Harper’s Bazaar magazine recommends using a repairing shampoo to fix any split ends or unsightly damage that may have developed last winter.

Next, the Philadelphia Inquirer recommends going natural with your tresses, even if you’re used to powering up a blow dryer every morning. After using conditioner, your hair should be in a perfect, frizz-free state, so why not let it flow freely? Natural hair is going to be popular throughout the season.

Finally, do yourself a favor and get a cut from a professional. Even if you just got your hair done before the end of winter, giving it a little touch-up with scissors can refine your look.

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
