Seeing Eye-To-Eye On Shadows
Eyes are one area where a girl can get really funky, but there’s something to be said about coordinating your color palette with the hues of your irises. Some cosmetics companies have gone so far as to design shadow palettes for each eye color based on standard recommendations – browns and bronzes for blue eyes, greens and blues for brown irises and purples and golds for green-eyed gals.
But beyond this very basic formula, there are so many ways for a girl to get creative and still heed her natural coloring.
Varied shades of the same color are what allow every woman to find just the right blue, gold or silver shadow for their eyes. While an icy hue of blue may make the world go round for brown-eyed women, blue with a slightly warmer cast may be ideal for blue-eyed girls, who would look washed out otherwise.
Or, you can go Katy Perry’s route and mix varying shades of the same color to contrast your irises in a multi-dimensional way. Perry wore bronze shadow on her top lid and copper glimmer along her lower lash line to off-set her baby blues, which made for quite the winning effect.
