If you love winter sports such as skiing or you simply enjoy spending time outdoors, you’re likely going to need to give your skin a little extra TLC once the cold weather rolls in. It’s no secret that chilly temperatures can do damage to your complexion, even if you’re adamant about moisturizing. Here are some tips for the ski bunnies and winter lovers out there who will be braving the cold.

1. Don’t forget about the sun.
The sun might not be its strongest during the winter, but The Huffington Post reports that its ultraviolet rays can still have a damaging effect on skin. Consider a product such as Dermablend Cover Creme SPF 30 to even out your complexion and avoid a scorching from the sun.

2. Moisturize often.
As The Telegraph reports, it may not be enough to moisturize just once a day during the winter, especially if you have dry skin. Don’t be shy about re-applying your Dermalogica products throughout the day to stay hydrated.

3. Take care of your lips!
Chapped lips go hand-in-hand with winter, but they don’t have to be a seasonal mainstay. Keep lip gloss on hand to ensure that your pout is always moist and beautiful.

About Lia Marchand

Shayna Murphy is a beauty blogger from Amherst, Massachusetts, who can trace her love of beauty products back to the one afternoon when she convinced her grandmother to buy her lime green nail polish. She enjoys cooking (Indian-style dishes are a specialty!), is a bit of a history buff and collects antique milk vases. Shayna reports on the latest makeup, skincare and fashion trends and will try to convince you on a regular basis that yes, you really should wear sunscreen daily. My favorite beauty product is... - Anything containing sea salt. It's probably the most amazing exfoliant I've ever used and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smoother than ever. Can't leave the house without my... - Lip gloss. The rest of the day can be a total bust, but if I have a great gloss on I feel like at least I've done one thing right! I would describe my style as... - Definitely au naturale. While I love exploring new shades of eyeshadow and liner on special occasions, for me the most important part of any beauty regimen is keeping my skin clear and blemish-free.
