While some people think that acne is confined to one’s face, the skin condition can actually wreak havoc on one’s entire body. Bacne, a term used to refer to acne that resides on one’s back, can be especially hard to fight, as the blemishes are located in such a hard-to-reach location.

However, fighting the skin imperfections doesn’t have to be a struggle, as long as you are equipped with the right products and a bit of inside knowledge.

Annet King, director of global education of The International Dermal Institute, recently shared some tips with Total Beauty about treating bacne. Beware of over-cleansing skin with harsh solutions and scrubbing tools, and instead stick to using one product formulated to fight acne.

Loofahs can irritate skin and worsen the condition, the website reports, so use a gentle body scrub and lightly massage the product into your skin using your hands.

When selecting your body wash, Allure.com recommends using a medicated body wash with salicylic acid, such as Murad Acne Body Wash or Peter Thomas Roth Blemish Buffing Beads Body Wash.

You can also use facial treatments on your body, but the news source suggests that you may want to steer clear of wipes that boast benzoyl peroxide, as the chemical can bleach clothing.ADNFCR-3538-ID-19928472-ADNFCR
