If you’re into nail art but aren’t a fan of the flashy neon designs that many ladies are sporting these days, a denim manicure might be right up your alley. As you probably know, denim jeans go with everything, which means that denim nails are just as versatile. Here’s the how-to from 10BlankCanvases.com.

After painting on a base coat, you’ll need a dark blue shade from Lippmann Collection – Nail Lacquers. Paint on two thin coats, then let it dry completely. Next, grab a white polish and a small, course paintbrush and lightly scribble on thin horizontal and vertical lines. They should look like a tiny patchwork of scratches.

To make it look like denim, use a makeup sponge to apply a light coat of the same blue polish you used for the base. It should give you a faded jeans affect. From there, you can use a matte top coat or a shiny top coat – whichever you prefer. If you want to take the manicure a step further, draw on a few stitching details by making thin lines with the blue polish and adding dotted lines over them in white. A rhinestone or two can act as buttons if you’re really going for it!
