While women often apply one shade of each type of makeup – a single color of blush and one tube of lipstick – those who want to add an extra bit of pizazz to their look may want to consider wearing two-toned makeup.

Instead of reaching for a bronzer or a blush, why not wear both? “The bronzer brings out cheekbones and makes the face more three-dimensional[and] the blush gives a glow,” makeup artist Benjamin Puckey told InStyle.com.

Puckey suggests applying a bronzer to the sides of the face in a ‘three’ shape, from the temple to the upper cheekbone to the jawline, and layering a cream blush along the apples of the cheek.

A two-tone application can also add definition to lips and create a fuller-looking pout. The makeup artist recommends brushing on a deep-hued lip color along the lip line and blending it toward the center. Then, brush a paler shade into the middle of the lips.

“The key is to use two shades in the same color family,” he added. “They should gradually fade into each other for an ombré effect.”

Jane Iredale offers a large amount of products perfectly suited for two-toned makeup. Women can layer the In Touch Cream Blush Stick over the Brush-Me Bronze Bronzing Powder, and can choose two shades from a large range of PureMoist LipColour.ADNFCR-3538-ID-19931954-ADNFCR
